Neston Tree Trail was created in 2022 by Neston Civic Society and Neston Earth Group. The whole trail takes about two hours, but it is easy to divide it into two, with a break at one of the coffee shops in Neston town centre. There are 40 trees, including well-known trees such as English Oak, and less well-known such as the midland hawthorn.
A printed version was launched at Neston Earth Festival on April 23rd, 2023 at Neston Community & Youth Centre.
No 28, labelled as a Mugo pine, is actually Pinus nigra, the black pine: the bud scales are white and the bud is acutely pointed. Late in 2023, two trees were felled, 36, the purple (copper) beech in Bushell Road, and 37, the Scots Pine by the path from Station Road to Stanney Fields Park. The printed version excludes No. 30, the Ginkgo, as this was felled just before printing.
